Creating An Equitable and Inclusive Work Environment
Community STARS/ Star of the Day is committed to creating an inclusive and equitable workspace. Our promise to entertain, educate, encourage and elevate our community through music, theatre, and dance includes the representation of everyone in our community: All races, religions, sexual orientations, body sizes, ages, abilities.
From its inception, Star of the Day has been committed to presenting family-friendly productions as well as amplifying
female-identifying voices and supporting female-identifying leadership within the arts community.
Our zero-tolerance bullying policy is a major point in our code of conduct and has been in place since our company’s inception. The organization will not tolerate racism, violence, or any other form of discrimination. Our anti-bullying contract is signed by all staff, crew, and cast for every production, and is a testament to our organizational commitment to
Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion.
Community STARS/Star of the Day stands in solidarity with Black Lives Matter. We love and embrace our members who identify as Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC). We will continue to stand with you as we create a 12-month plan to listen, learn, and implement better practices within our institution to insure that all voices are heard, there and within our larger community. Our plan will also include better engagement within the community of the Lehigh Valley and with our community families whom we serve. Community STARS/Star of the Day has and always will keep its doors open for all. We are dedicated to genuine change that will uplift and support all members of the community. We know that true, lasting change takes time and is only made possible through education, hard conversations and open, honest dialogue.
We are storytellers. We are committed to telling everyone’s stories.
