Auditions will take place at BETWEEN THE LINES STUDIO THEATRE, 725 N. 15th STREET, ALLENTOWN, PA. (A note about parking. Please DO NOT PARK along the chains where there are RESERVED signs)
Be part of Star of the Day’s newest tradition in A VHS Christmas Carol! VHS is a 45-minute, one act, “synth-filled retelling of Charles Dickens's classic tale, set in the 1800s but with 1980s aesthetics (don't think too hard about it). Join miserly tycoon Ebeneezer Scrooge on a journey through the past, present, and future, and see if he has the capacity to change before it's too late.” (description taken from teamstarkid.com)

CAST BREAKDOWN
All genders will be considered for all roles.
Narrator (16+): our omniscient storyteller who moves in and out of the action. Requires a large presence and large voice, features in every number.
Scrooge (to play 50-70): a miserly businessman who values money over people. Has let the pain of his life turn him cold, but is transformed by his visits from the spirits.
Jacob Marley (16+): the ghost of Scrooge’s former business partner. Returns from beyond the grave to warn him of his impending visit from three spirits and urge him to change before it’s too late.
The Ghost of Christmas Past (16+): the first spirit who guides Scrooge through his past. Aloof and matter of fact, concerned with events as they happened.
The Ghost of Christmas Present (16+): a high energy spirit who has one day to live and makes the most of it. Overflowing with the joy of Christmas and eager to share it with Scrooge.
The Ghost of Christmas Future (16+): a spirit of few words with a BIG voice. Shows Scrooge the future that awaits him if he refuses to change, and ushers in the climax of the show.
Fred (to play 20-30): Scrooge’s Christmas-loving nephew who continues to reach out to his uncle despite years of rejection.
Young Scrooge (to play 20-25): Scrooge’s 20-something self. Engaged to Belle but more concerned with making money than being with her. Beginning to grow cold and miserly.
Belle (to play 20-25): Scrooge’s ex-fiancée, a kind but frustrated young woman who leaves him when he starts to value money over her.
Bob Cratchit (to play 30-40): at work, Scrooge’s overworked, underpaid, and rather nervous clerk. At home, a devoted and loving family man who is trying to remain positive despite their difficulties.
Emily Cratchit (to play 30-40): a caring wife and mother who is fed up with Scrooge’s treatment of her husband.
Tiny Tim (to play 8-12): the youngest of the Cratchit children, small and sickly, but full of life considering his circumstances.
Cratchit Children: Bob and Emily’s 5 other children, to play 10-17.
Party guests, businessmen, scavengers, and others (16+): our Greek chorus who helps to move the story along. Features throughout the show.
